Votive candle of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima

On 13 June, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima is celebrated, coinciding with the vigil of the same name.

It was in the mid-20th century when the neighbourhood of Fátima began to dream; future residents not only dreamed of a home, but also of a church and a patron saint to worship, to whom they could offer their prayers and give thanks for their blessings. And this dream came true. Since then, the residents have had a protector who watches over their entire neighbourhood, Our Lady of Fátima, whom all her parishioners venerate and whose faith they seek to instil along with love and devotion to Mary.

This celebration includes various activities, among which the solemn Eucharist in honour of the Virgin and the procession accompanied by the Osuna municipal band stand out.

Velá del Puerto de la Encina

Throughout a weekend in June, patron saint festivities are held in this district in honour of the Virgin Mary Help of Christians, with sporting activities, children's activities, concerts, performances and many other events that delight all those attending, including Holy Mass and a procession in honour of the Virgin Mary Help of Christians accompanied by the Osuna municipal band.

Saint Arcadio, Patron Saint of Osuna

Date: 12 January

The enthusiasm aroused by Saint Arcadio, as a result of Father Quintadueñas' research into Dextro's work, led to the establishment of a brotherhood and sisterhood, which parades the saint every year on 12 January, the date on which he is believed to have been martyred in Osuna.

The image, which is venerated in the chapel of the same name, was completed in 1697. On the eve of its first procession, on 10 January of that year, the Council, Justice and Regiment of Osuna officially approved it.

Pilgrimage of Consolation

Date: Last Sunday in April

At dawn, large numbers of people gather at the church that houses this image of the Immaculate Conception to take it on pilgrimage to Calvary, some 12 kilometres from the town. The day is filled with joy and fun, as families enjoy a day in contact with nature.

The event is filled with a special pilgrim atmosphere thanks to its spectacular and beautiful floats, as well as unique traditions and symbolism, exemplified by the solemn recitation of the rosary at the start of the return journey and the emotional sevillanas danced upon arrival at Cortijo del Rosso. The same can be said of the arrival at the Ermita del Calvario, where pilgrims gather around the altar, which is decorated for the occasion.

Our Lady of Consolation

Date: 8 September

This 16th-century image was brought from England by Don Juan Téllez Girón, 4th Earl of Ureña, to save it from the plundering of Henry VIII's Reformation. It is carried in procession through the streets of the town every 8th of September and has been the patron saint of Osuna since 1624.

In parallel with this event, the neighbourhood where the Church of Consolation, headquarters of the brotherhood, is located organises a ‘velá’ in honour of the Patron Saint.
