Route of La Gomera

The starting point for this route is the Service Area located next to the A-92 motorway and the end point is the Municipal Sports Centre. On this route, we will gradually ascend with a continuous up-and-down until we reach ‘La Gomera’ and then finish descending in the final stretch.

We start by leaving the Services Area and take the ‘Cañada Real de Écija a Teba’ passing under the ‘A-92’, cross the ‘Arroyo de las Viñas’ until we reached a crossroads, where we turned right onto the Camino de los Corrales. We continued straight ahead and saw the Cortijo de Juana Hidalgo or Cortijo de Bejarano on our right. Without turning off, we continued into a mountainous area where we had to cross the Arroyo del Carrizoso. When you reach the next fork in the road, you will see a sign indicating ‘Moreta.’ Keep to the right. The next 9 km will take you across a ridge with beautiful views on both sides. At the next crossroads, turn right again to pass by the ‘Casilla de Moreta.’

We continue along this path, passing the ruins of Rancho de Pozo Ancho, and continue straight ahead, leaving Rancho de Benamazón and Cortijo de la Molina behind us, thus entering Camino de Palmeña. We continue along this path until we reach the ‘A-451’ road (Osuna-El Saucejo road) and turn right to join it. We only travel about 800 metres along this road and then turn left onto the ‘Camino de la Gomera al Saucejo’ to begin an ascent, passing close to the picnic areas of La Gomera. We reach a new crossroads where we must turn right, leaving the ruins of La Huerta de la Gomera on our left, and enter the Cañada Real de Ronda. At this point, we are located between Cerro del Gomerón and La Gomera, the highest hills in the area, where we will begin our descent.

When you reach the next crossroads, turn right to continue along this path. Without deviating, you will pass very close to a fighting bull ranch and also the ‘Rancho del Pescado’. Cross the ‘Arroyo del Peinado’ stream, and immediately on your left you will see the ‘Rancho de Lucas’ and a little further on in the distance you will see the ruins of the ‘Cortijo de la Piedra del Cristiano’.

We continue along the route, passing close to the ruins of the Cortijo de Vinculo, crossing the Arroyo del Vinculo stream and continuing along the cattle track until we reach a junction where we turn onto the A-451 road (Osuna-El Saucejo road), turning left to finally reach Osuna.
