On this route, we will start and finish at the Municipal Sports Centre. We will visit the Lantejuela endorheic complex, a nature reserve of great ecological value. The best time to do this route is in spring, as the paths are passable again and the lagoons have collected water after the winter rains.
We leave the Municipal Sports Centre and head towards Camino de Santa Cruz. We continue on the left-hand side to enter Cañada Real de Écija a Teba, continue straight ahead and, after passing the Las Cabezuelas residential area, take the left-hand junction with caution to enter Vereda de las Ánimas. We crossed the Arroyo del Salado and kept to the right, leaving the Cortijo de la Albina, the ‘Casilla de Checa’ and the ‘Cortijo de Vistalegre’. We connect with a good track and turn right before reaching the ‘Cortijo de Cantalejos’ to arrive at the ‘Vereda de Rabadanes’ and link up with the ‘Vereda de Lucena’. Before reaching the Cortijo de Topetecano, turn left onto the Vereda Diana y Constitución, keeping to the left. With the lagoons full, you can now see the water on your right. We pass the Cortijo de Matorrales farmhouse and come to a fork in the road. We take the left fork until we reach the viewpoint, where there are a few isolated trees. From there, we can see the Laguna de Pedro López lake. We turn back about 0.5 km and continue on the left, arriving at the Laguna de la Ballestera lake, where we will see an information point.
We continue on our left, passing by the ‘Laguna Verde de Sal’ (Green Salt Lagoon) and turning right onto the ‘SE-708’ road. We cycle along this road for about 3 km until we reach the junction with another road that leads to Écija. We follow this road for just over 1 km, at which point we turn right, but first we can take a look to the left at a small lagoon that forms there. We continue on our way, passing by the Laguna de Consuegra and the Cortijo de Consuegra. We return to the road, turn left and cycle another 5 km on asphalt until we reach the Laguna de la Turquilla.
At the crossroads, take the A-351 road (Écija-Osuna road) towards Osuna, passing by the Calderón Grande and Calderón Chica lakes. Approximately 1 km after passing the latter, you will see a crossroads. Turn right, pass the Cortijo de Calderón farmhouse and return to the Vereda de Lucena trail. Continue straight ahead to cross the A-351 road. 1.2 km after crossing, turn right. where you will find the last of the lagoons, the Laguna del Terrosillo. This road will take you straight to the Hacienda de Santa Cruz and finally you will cross the Vereda de la Albina. Continue straight ahead and you will arrive in Osuna.
