Path of the Ravine

TRAIL TYPE NAME TIME DISTANCE
PR-A 399 ROAD TO THE GORGE 4h 13,3 km

The trail begins at Cortijo de Cachimonte, where we will start our journey along a paved section of the Cachimonte path. After 300 metres, we will turn left and leave the paved section to take the Cañada Real de Cañete, continuing along it for another 300 metres until we reach the El Calvario path on our right, which we will take. We will walk along this path for 2 km, between olive groves, and climb a first hill, after which we will cross the Arroyo de Los Vázquez stream and come to a second, somewhat steeper hill. At the highest points of these hills, we can enjoy wonderful views.

Once we have reached the top of the second hill, we will descend gently and continue until we reach the Cañada Real de Écija a Teba. At this point, we must turn right, changing from the path to a well-maintained track. We will continue along this track for 2.6 km, climbing gently up the Cañada Real, enjoying magnificent views and the company of vegetation and birds as we wander along until we come to the path leading to the ravine on the right. We will take this path, leaving the Cañada Real and once again swapping the stable surface for a more uneven track.

We will begin our ascent along this path in search of the highest point of our route, Cantalejo Hill, where the repeater station is located. As soon as we start walking along the path, we will come across the ruins of Casilla de la Victoria, an old farmhouse, which we will leave on our left. We will climb Cerro de la Victoria, passing through olive groves, until we reach the Cañada Real de Osuna a Cañete after travelling 3.3 km along this path. At this point, we turn right onto the Cañada Real, climbing uphill until we come to the repeater station and the Cortijo de Cantalejo Alto farmhouse on our left and the highest point of our route, where we can enjoy the most beautiful views. This is a good place to rest and rehydrate.

From here, we will begin our descent along the Cañada Real in search of our starting point. This descent of just over 3 km will allow us to observe several panoramic panels where we can enjoy the splendid views and learn more about the use and tradition of the area. After 1.5 km, the road returns to asphalt, accompanying us to the end of our journey at the Cortijo de Cachimonte.
