The trailhead is located opposite the Hornía farmhouse. From there, we will begin our ascent along a paved road in search of Casa de Tamariz, a farmhouse located on our right, and continue climbing among vineyards (country houses), enjoying the beautiful scenery of the southern foothills. We will reach a point where our path joins a gravel track that forms part of one of the branches of the Cantalejo wind farm. At this point, we will turn left and walk along this track, enjoying the beautiful landscapes on our right at all times.
These are the hills and mountains of the neighbouring towns of El Saucejo and Los Corrales. On the left, we will come across two junctions that we can take to shorten our route. If we decide not to take them, we will continue along the track until we reach the royal cattle track from Osuna to Cañete. On our right, we will see the television and telephone repeater.
Once in the royal glen, we will begin a leisurely descent for approximately 3 kilometres, during which we can admire beautiful examples of native vegetation such as rosemary, thyme and gorse. On the right, given the altitude at which we are walking, our gaze can lose itself in the greenery of the mountains, enjoying beautiful landscapes that will make our walk even more pleasant. Our descent ends when we reach the Cachimonte path, which we will take on the left and which will take us back to our destination. On this last stretch, we must exercise extreme caution, as the path currently coincides with the SE-487 road. This is a road with little traffic, but it is still important to respect the traffic rules and keep to the left. We can enjoy beautiful views of Osuna in the background on our right, which will accompany us until we reach our destination.
