
Situation, strategic location
Osuna is located in the southeast of the province of Seville. It is bordered to the north by Ecija, to the east by Estepa, to the west by Morón, Marchena and La Puebla de Cazalla, and to the south by El Saucejo, Los Corrales and Martín de la Jara.
It occupies a strategic place within the Andalusian Community, as it is located in the heart of Andalusia.
The municipality of Osuna covers an area of 593 km.2 It is therefore the fourth largest in the province of Seville, accounting for 4.22% of the province's surface area.
Two clearly differentiated regions come into contact in our town. On the one hand, the Sevillian countryside, The area is almost flat, with clay and limestone soils, which occupy two thirds of the total area of the municipality, and the land is used for dry farming. On the other hand, the Sierra Sur - foothills of the Betic System -, with calcareous and gypsiferous soils, where olive groves and scrubland predominate, with a mountainous orography, sometimes reaching an altitude of over 500 metres.
As for the climate, Osuna is characterised by mild winters and short autumns and springs, with an average annual temperature of approximately 18º Celsius, with an average maximum temperature of 42.3ºC and an average minimum of 3.6ºC, and rainfall of between 550 and 600 l/m2.2.
