ROMAN THEATRE OF OSUNA<\/h1>\n

The Roman theatre of the ancient <\/span><\/span>Genetiva Iulia<\/i><\/span><\/span> Colony of Osuna is located in the south side of the crossing which forms <\/span><\/span>La Ca\u00f1ada Real (from Marchena<\/i><\/span><\/span> to <\/span><\/span>Estepa)<\/i><\/span><\/span> and <\/span><\/span>Vereda de Santa M\u00f3nica.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This is a place where many Roman remains appeared. Many researches agree to establish the Forum of the Colony close to the crossing of both livestock routes due to the large number of findings encountered there, among them; we can highlight the tables of bronze which contain the foundational law of the colony.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The main obstacle we face in order to investigate this archeological finding is the lack of information and documentation. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The first reference about the theatre comes from <\/span><\/span>Juan de Dios de la Rada y Delgado, <\/i><\/span><\/span>who claims that during the excavations carried out by the Government in 1876 in the place where the Osuna <\/span><\/span>tables of bronze<\/i><\/span><\/span> appeared, an inscription showing the name of three people and their seat assignment in the theatre was also discovered. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Other researches such as <\/span><\/span>Demetrio de los R\u00edos<\/i><\/span><\/span> and the French <\/span><\/span>Thouvenot<\/i><\/span><\/span> carried out some studies about the theatre and its descriptions. Alongside with these investigations, the local newspaper called \u201cEl Paleto\u201d commented all the news of the excavations achieved by Engel and Paris.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Currently only six or seven rows of stands can be seen on the ground of the theatre. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n\n\t
