Its origins date back to 1796, as can be seen in the inscription on the structure above \u201cReigning the lords Mr. Carlos IV and Mrs. Mar\u00eda Luisa de Borb\u00f3n, 1796\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">In this arch of neoclassical style we can highlight the symmetry and conciseness of its shape. It is composed of a great central half pointed arch topped with a frieze without any decoration. It was located in front of the \u201c<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Puerta de \u00c9cija\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">. At the beginning of the 17<\/span><\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">th<\/span><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> century it received the name \u201c<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Plaza de la Feria\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> (the square of the fair). Currently, after several modifications, it has the name of one of the most important personalities from Spanish literature. Its name is due to the foundation of the convent under that patronage. Formerly, it was named as <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Noreta square<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> or <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Polvero square<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> because it was a place where the whitewash was manufactured. The monastery was settled in the property of the hospital founded by the IV count of Ure\u00f1a.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"img-with-aniamtion-wrap center\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The Granary Pio de la Misericordia is located in 41, Navalagrulla street.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Alonso Navarro de Figueroa<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> ordered its foundation in 1680 with the intention of providing the poorest farm workers with wheat.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Granary P\u00edo de la Misericordia<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> or <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Granary of Charity <\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">is a place used as a house.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">We can highlight the niche of the facade showing the image of a virgin, possibly the virgin This tower was built with the typical yellowish sandstone of the town. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"img-with-aniamtion-wrap center\" data-max-width=\"50%\" data-max-width-mobile=\"default\" data-shadow=\"none\" data-animation=\"fade-in\" >\n      <div class=\"inner\">\n        <div class=\"hover-wrap\"> \n          <div class=\"hover-wrap-inner\">\n            <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-with-animation skip-lazy\" data-delay=\"0\" height=\"1067\" width=\"800\" data-animation=\"fade-in\" src=\"https:\/\/turismodeosuna.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Torreon-Calle-Martos.webp\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/turismodeosuna.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Torreon-Calle-Martos.webp 800w, https:\/\/turismodeosuna.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Torreon-Calle-Martos-225x300.webp 225w, https:\/\/turismodeosuna.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Torreon-Calle-Martos-768x1024.webp 768w, https:\/\/turismodeosuna.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Torreon-Calle-Martos-300x400.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/>\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t\t<div id=\"tab-saint-arcadio-park\" data-tab-icon=\"\" class=\"wpb_tab ui-tabs-panel wpb_ui-tabs-hide clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\n\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 100;\">Saint Arcadio park<\/span><\/h1>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The park of Saint <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Arcadio<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> is located in the north of the town, at the confluence between Alfonso XII Street and the regional highway of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Lantejuela<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">. It is the oldest park in the town and it is estimated that it was built in 1927, which the objective of providing the town with a recreational area.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">It has a surface of 13.245 square metres. It is a lineal park with a geometric configuration, at one of its ends is situated the popular \u201c<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>caseta<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">\u201d and the green areas are divided in different spaces.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">We can highlight the perimeter fence of the park with a grille inspired by the <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Mar\u00eda Luisa<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> Park in Seville and the main gate that is a grille belonging to the former church of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>San Francisco<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> dating back to 1886. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The central fountains and the banks of the park are decorated with ceramic inspired by 17<\/span><\/span><sup><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">th<\/span><\/span><\/sup><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> century. This ceramic was made by the students of the Trade School of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Manuel Rodr\u00edguez Buz\u00f3n<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The green areas are divided into 16 spaces, at the entrance of the park you can enjoy the floral explosion of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Cercis Siliquastrum<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> in spring, the great smell of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Laurus Nobilis<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> or the beauty of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Viburnum Tinus<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> and three beautiful examples of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Bella Sombra, Phytalacca Dioica<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Next to the main entrance we have two areas for younger children surrounded by different kind of flowers such as Tipuana Tipu, Catalpas <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Bignonioides<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> and <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Jacarandas Mimosifolias<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> which create shade and protect children from direct sunlight.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The Ribera promenade intends to highlight the autochthonous flora of the Mediterranean forest with different varieties of poplars, some specimens of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Tamrix<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> and <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Salix Alba<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">. Following this route we can appreciate some samples of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Prunas Cerasifera, Hibiscus Azederach, Punica Granatum, Hibiscus Rosa-sinensis, Justicia adhatoda and Jasminum officinale<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"> and a magnificent one of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Araucaria excelsa<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Furthermore, in this park we can find four examples of olives trees, with more than three hundred years each one and different varieties of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Quercus, Crataegus siliquea, Pistacea Lentiscum Chamaerops Humilis, Arbutus Unedo.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">At the end of this enclosure we find the so-called <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Glorieta de las Palmeras <\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">in which we can highlight three examples of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><i>Washintonia Robusta, Washintonia Filifera, Cycas Revolutas, Arenga Pinnata, Tradchycarpus Fortunei and Phoenis Canariensis. <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><span lang=\"en-US\">At one of the ends of the park we can contemplate a pavilion made by Diego Jim\u00e9nez dating back to 1927.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t<div class=\"wpb_gallery wpb_content_element clearfix\">\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_gallery_slides wpb_flexslider flex-gallery flexslider\" data-onclick=\"link_no\" data-interval=\"5\" data-flex_fx=\"fade\"><ul class=\"slides\" data-d-autorotate=\"\"><li><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"skip-lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/turismodeosuna.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/FUENTE-PARQUE-SAN-ARCADIO2-scaled-600x400.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" alt=\"FUENTE PARQUE SAN ARCADIO2\" title=\"FUENTE PARQUE SAN ARCADIO2\" \/><\/li><li><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"skip-lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/turismodeosuna.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/BANCOS-PARQUE-SAN-ARCADIO1-scaled-600x400.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" alt=\"BANCOS PARQUE SAN ARCADIO1\" title=\"BANCOS PARQUE SAN ARCADIO1\" \/><\/li><li><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"skip-lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/turismodeosuna.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/INTERIOR-PARQUE-SAN-ARCADIO-scaled-600x400.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" alt=\"INTERIOR PARQUE SAN ARCADIO\" title=\"INTERIOR PARQUE SAN ARCADIO\" \/><\/li><li><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"skip-lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/turismodeosuna.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Parque-San-Arcadio.jpg_572144763-scaled-600x400.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" alt=\"Parque-San-Arcadio.jpg_572144763\" title=\"Parque-San-Arcadio.jpg_572144763\" \/><\/li><li><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"skip-lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/turismodeosuna.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/PARQUE-SAN-ARCADIO-scaled-600x400.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" alt=\"PARQUE SAN ARCADIO\" title=\"PARQUE SAN ARCADIO\" \/><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div> \n\t<\/div> \n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Emblematic corners and squares Pastora ArchCervantes squareConsolaci\u00f3n squareJuan XXIII squareEncarnaci\u00f3n squareGranary Pio de la MisericordiaLa Merced squareAsunci\u00f3n squareSanta Rita squareEl Duque squareMarqu\u00e9s squareMain squareNueva squareRodr\u00edguez Mar\u00edn squareSalitre squareTower of Martos...","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-3286","page","type-page","status-publish"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.3 -
